Our nursery - vivaio G.&G. Buffa

We are Giusi and Giovanni Buffa; our nursery has been established recently, but we have been passionate growers of peonies for a long time.

Our collection is the result of more than twenty years of patient and passionate research, and boasts more than a hundred varieties among herbaceous peonies, tree peonies and intersectional hybrids.

We grow plants of Chinese, Japanese and French origin, but our production is characterized especially by American hybrids.
Not all varieties in the collection are for sale: some of them are still being observed and propagated, and will be for sale a few years from now.

Recently we added to our peonies some varieties and hybrids of Japanese anemone (Anemone hupehensis) and poppies (Papaver orientale) which we love in particular.

Our continuous work in growing and selecting plants, buying and studying new varieties created all over the world allows us to offer those varieties which in our experience are the most fascinating and the most suitable for gardens in temperate and continental climates.

Our production of herbaceous peonies is based exclusively on the division of plants grown in field for 3-4 years: this allows blooming from the first year after planting.
Regarding tree peonies, we provide specimens of 2-3 seasons, grafted on P. lactiflora roots.
All the production, with a few sporadic exceptions, is made in the nursery: this allows us to confidently provide varieties correctly classified and especially well acclimatized plants of excellent quality.
