The G&G Buffa Nursery was founded in 2004, born of more than twenty years of recreational and professional experience. Over the last two decades, we have gathered and still maintain a collection which totals well over one hundred and fifty varieties, including herbaceous and tree peonies as well as intersectional hybrids.

At the nursery, we cultivate and breed plants of Chinese, Japanese and French origins, but our production is mainly characterised by herbaceous and Lutea American hybrids. Not all the varieties that make up our collection are in our catalogue and available for purchase. Some are still undergoing a process of observation and breeding, and will be launched on the market in a few years' time provided they meet with our qualitative expectations.

The selection and cultivation process we continue to carry out, as we purchase and observe new varieties created throughout the world, allows us to offer some of the most attractive peonies around, adaptable to both temperate and continental climates.

Our production of herbaceous peonies is based exclusively on the division of plants cultivated in the field for 3 to 4 years. This allows us to obtain flowers from the very first year of planting. With regard to the woody shrub peonies, we create specimens of 2 to 3 years old which are grafted onto a P. lactiflora root.

Our peonies have been accompanied for some years now by a small collection of autumn-blooming anemone (Anemone hupehensis) and some related hybrids. We are particularly fond of such plants as they give us abundant flowering from the beginning of August right through to late October, brightening up the garden in a period which would otherwise be lacking in colour.

Our peony production takes place entirely within our nursery, and we monitor all the stages of the productive cycle. This allows us to offer varieties which are correctly classified but, above all, well acclimatised and of excellent quality.
